Harold C. Villere III, CPA
Harold attended Jackson State University, where he earned a degree in accounting along with a master’s in professional accountancy. This set the stage for his career as he later became a certified public account. He started his work experience with PricewaterhouseCoopers (one of the BIG 4 public accounting firms) where he worked in both the audit and assurance group as well as the tax group for several years. Harold gained a tremendous skill set through a rigorous workload of financial statement audits and reviews and personal tax preparation for executives and upper management at fortune 100 companies. This gave Harold the confidence to go into private industry as an accountant. He began to prepare and reconcile the accounting records he once audited, and learned the intricacies of accounting, reporting, and compliance that make companies successful. Harold later transitioned to directing audit teams engaged with federal contractors and grant recipients, uncovering accounting errors and operational deficiencies that were a detriment to their compliance with federal regulations as well as their business as a whole.
Throughout Harold's career, word of his expertise began to spread throughout his family and social circles. He initially started by giving advice to his family members regarding ways to achieve favorable tax positions and helped a couple family members start successful businesses. Within his social circles, some of his close friends already had successful businesses but were struggling to account for their transactions in a way for their financials to be most useful. Needless to say, what started out as giving a few tips back then turned into friends and family wanting to just be done with "the headache" and pay Harold to handle these matters for them. This is where the foundation of The Villere Firm is derived. It was built from serving people that Harold loves and cares for and relishing every opportunity to celebrate their success. Queena Villere
Queena attended Jackson State University. She has a bachelor’s degree in accounting, as well as a master’s in business administration. She is also a licensed realtor. Queena worked in public accounting for several years, digging into the nuances of accounting, reporting, and compliance. Queena has experience in financial statement examinations, forecast, and delivery of recommendations to help clients succeed.
Queena’s background also includes federal government contract compliance. Queena has experience in federal program compliance to include educating federal contractors regarding the intricate specifications outlined in contracts, federal regulations, and the law surrounding Equal Employment Opportunity.
Queena understands that it’s not just about the work that’s on the line, but her name as well, and the faith that people have in her. She also has a strong affinity for public service, volunteering in the community, and helping others succeed. Queena is the reason for a common phrase used here at The Villere Firm— “Their success is our success”.
